Goal
To design a user experience that motivates regular and correct product use. An opening to turn correct application into felt efficacy, and felt efficacy into loyalty.
My Role
Identified the concept: skincare regime as a journal on mobile - a wholesome, conversational experience riding the cultural momentum of skincare as self-care.
Designed a skincare-centered user journey amalgamating business goals with Charles Duhigg’s Power of Habit framework, then distilled it into an MVP feature set for pilot.
Concept
What does your face, face?
Your skin is a response to your life. Your routine should be too.
01
Context-Aware Routine
Tell the app you had an outdoorsy day — sun exposure, time outside — and it quietly adjusts. A deep cleanse gets added, a light exfoliation reminder appears on alternate days for the next two weeks. No manual tweaking, no googling. The regime responds to the day you actually had.
02
The Whole Regime,
Not Just Our Products
Skincare is rarely one brand. The app accommodates your full routine — for non-brand products, you can log the step, set a timer, and follow your own technique. Guidance where we can give it, structure where we can’t. The whole journey, in one place.
03
Skin Diary
Photo galleries are full, unorganized, forgotten. A dedicated skin diary with visual records that builds over time creates a relationship with your skin, and makes the habit worth keeping.

Research
Where the idea came from.
An ongoing cultural trend
Skincare had become a daily act of self-care, not a chore — and still is. We borrowed that momentum: the app had to feel wholesome and conversational, never clinical.
Cultural
Colleague interviews
Talked to colleagues about their own routines to surface the gaps they feel in a regime — what’s confusing, what slips, and what never quite turns into a habit.
Qualitative
Conceptual screens
Three moments in the hand.

Today’s regime
Logs her context; the app adds a double cleanse for the pollution. Night routine + streak.

Guided · cleanse
In-situ AR guidance with a 20-second timer — double cleanse for a high-pollution day.

Skin diary
Before & after, % change and the streak — the proof that closes the loop.

MVP
Distilled Requirements for POC and Pilot
Prioritized the minimum feature set from the full journey to define what the pilot needed to demonstrate — enough to close the loop and nothing that didn’t serve correct application driving perceived efficacy.
